the WGSA Century Club
The 100 MPH barrier has always been an elusive milestone in the world of gravity land speed racing. It's the Mt. Everest of this speed sport. In September 2016, an all out assault on the 100 mph mark was made. The first true gravity land speed race of the 21st century would take place at Les Eboulements, Quebec Canada on the steepest ride able road in world. The road would soon prove to be the gravity land speed racing mecca! The event, 2016 L'Ultime Descente, would showcase the worlds fastest riders/drivers in multiple disciplines. This was the fastest gravity speed race in history!
Following this event in 2016, the World Gravity Speed Association created the WGSA Century Club to acknowledge and recognize those riders/drivers who have gone into the gravity land speed history books for their incredible speed quest performances that have exceeded 100 mph! The 2017 L'Ultime Descente again drew the world's top gravity speed merchants and created four new members to join the WGSA Century Club fast pack. The iconic event proved to be even faster than the year before. A group of three street luge pilots and a top gravity streamliner driver would go down in the gravity land speed racing history books as the newest members of the elite league of gravity speed merchants. The Centurions listed below are in numerical order in which they obtained membership into The WGSA Century Club. The speeds recognized are the first speed they recorded over the 100 mph hurdle. All speeds were recorded thru a certified speed trap system and in accordance with WGSA rules and regulations. Congratulations to all these incredible gravity land speed merchants in reaching the 100 mph milestone! GO FAST |
