WGSA Top Gravity Streamliner
Doug Anderson (USA) 164.13 km/h 101.98 mph 2017
Anderson And The Bodrodz Atomic Scalpel Record Highest Speed Ever For Gravity Car.
Doug Anderson (USA) attending the 2017 L'Ultime Descente Speed Challenge, would set the highest speed ever recorded for a wheeled gravity vehicle. Anderson and teammate, Jason Camp finished the streamliner the night before they left for Canada in the dark because of a hurricane that had knocked power out. Like fellow teammate Fast Donnie, Anderson found himself jumping into the cockpit with zero seat time in a brand new untested car. Anderson, piloting the Bodrodz Atomic Scalpel on Saturday would trip the timing beams at 164.13 km/h 101.98 mph for a new WGSA Top Gravity Streamliner world record. A remarkable performance since Anderson never let the car run flat out all weekend! This would be the first WGSA gravity car world record in the triple digits. In doing so, he had also secured top speed honors of the 2017 L'Ultime Descente and became the 7th member to join the elite WGSA Century club. The WGSA congratulates Doug Anderson on his new WGSA world record and his 100 mph milestone. GO FAST

Bodrodz "Fast Donnie" Resets Own WGSA Gravity Car World Record!
Bodrodz Fast Donnie Schoettler (USA) at the 2017 L'Ultime Descente would reset his previous WGSA record he set at the 2016 event. Would you expect anything less out of one of the true gravity car icons. Schoettler arrived at the 2017 event with a new untested G Car. In fact, so new, he would bow out of Friday morning's speed sessions to finish the car. That morning he and Bodrodz teammate, Jono Searby would thrash to complete the car to make one run that afternoon. Fast Donnie finished off the speed event by piloting the Bodrodz Grey Ghost to a blistering new WGSA speed record and upping his own previous world record to 160.00 km/h 99.41 mph. The year before at the 2016 event, Fast Donnie had recorded a speed of 155.67 km/h 96.72 mph. He had raised the record by almost 4.82 km/h 3 mph! Impressive is an understatement, considering Schoettler had zero seat time in the new speed machine coming to the event and this was the first time his gravity car had ever rolled down a hill. The WGSA congratulates "Fast Donnie" Schoettler on his outstanding speed performance and his new WGSA world record. GO FAST

Ash Pilots Brand New Bodrodz Gravity Car To Set New WGSA World Record.
Bodrodz Andy Ash (GBR) jumps into never seen before Bodrodz gravity car and sets new WGSA 200 Limited OW (open wheel) world record. The Bodrodz gravity car was slated to run the 200 Limited CWC (closed wheel canopy) class but time had run out at the Bodrodz shop and they elected to go after an open wheel record. With Andy taking the wheel along with two Bodrodz UK teammates Jono Searby and Graham Thompson, they had just hours to prep and fit the car for Ash's WGSA record attempt at the 2017 L'Ultime Descente. Ash, one of UK's top gravity car pilots with years of G Car experience, would drive the Bodrodz Atomic Sliver to a WGSA world record, posting an incredible speed of 147.94 km/h 91.92 mph for an open wheeler and established a new class record. Andy Ash was now the fastest gravity car pilot in Europe! Congrats from all of us at the WGSA, on your outstanding speed achievement and new WGSA world record. GO FAST

Holsenback Wrestles Gravity Car To A New WGSA World Record
Scott Holsenback (USA) piloting the Bodrodz Bullet on Sept. 10 2016 would set a WGSA world record at the 2016 L'Ultime Descente speed record event. The Bullet would run in the WGSA 200 Limited CWC (closed wheel with canopy) class. The car had been plagued aero problems which in turn caused the car's handling to become virtually unmanageable at higher speeds. Holsenback now aware of the car's flight characteristics, was cautious and was able to tip toe the ill handling Bodrodz Bullet thru the speed trap to set a new WGSA class record of 115.71 km/h 71.89 mph before sidelining the car for the rest of the 2016 event. WGSA would like to congratulate Scott Holsenback on his WGSA world record accomplishment. GO FAST

Rooney Rebounds After High Speed Crash To Go On To Set New WGSA Gravity Car World Record!
Iain Rooney (SCO) after being involved in a high speed bottom end crash on the first day of the 2017 L'Ultime Descente, would return the next day to set a WGSA 200 Limited OWC (open wheel canopy) world record. After he and teammate Paul Janson spent hours repairing the car that evening back to race status, Iain was back in the cockpit the following day for a world record attempt for his class. Rooney was cautious and finessed his gravity car up to a top speed of 113.20 km/h 70.33 mph establishing the new WGSA world record for his class at the event. The WGSA congratulates Iain Rooney on his new world record and his tenacity to get back in the cockpit and make it happen. A truly incredible speed achievement by one of Europe's top gravity car pilots! GO FAST
